my setup

So pretty much I have 1000 up and 1000 down with AT&T verse fiber internet. My setup is at&t modem-Netduma-ps4. All my devices are connected through wifi to the modem because the netduma speeds can't handle 1000 up and down. My ps4 is the only thing connected to the duma. Some admins have told me that I should keep my setups because of the speeds I have. My ping in games have overall been pretty good 17-33 range. I just wanted to make sure I would be good for the next call of duty. So am I good to go? Or should I change something.

You have plenty of bandwidth so local congestion is not going to be an issue for you so yeah thats fine

Hey tellto. I also have AT&T Uverse Gigabit, and for the life of me I cannot get my Netduma to get over 75 down, and 75 up. On average, it's closer to 50. I pay for 1000, and I'm scratching my head over here.

 

I've followed this guide for setting my gateway in DMZ/Passthrough or DHCPS-Fixed mode via a WAN IP from and the Mac address on my Duma. I've followed several "optimization" tips and guides I've come across on this forum. Reactive algorithm enabled. Disabled CC by ticking Turbo and Super Turbo on. Disabled WAN and LAN IPv6, and misc. Reset device prioritization. Yes my gateway and Duma have been rebooted. Yes the ethernet cables I have can handle my speeds. You name it, I've likely tried it folks.

 

Funny thing is, when I got the Duma I tried just plugging it into my router (not ideal) and it would max at 500/500. Nothing more, nothing less. So I KNOW it can be faster than it should be. This isn't due to a recent outage. My line isn't faulty. If I unplug my Duma and reset my AT&T gateway to default right now, I'd be getting over 900 down and up no problem. Issue seems to either be user error, or on the Duma's end. And I'll take 100% full credit if it's me folks. But sheesh, I try setting the thing up the correct way and I get less than 1/10 the speed I pay for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi Typographic, welcome to the forum!

 

So first off, what is the nature of the speed tests you're running? I'd recommend running them in non-peak times wired to a PC, with 'Set Bandwidth' set at 999.

The Netduma hardware maxes out at around 800mbps, though that's in lab settings. 500mbps sounds about right if you can achieve that. If you haven't already, definitely switch out the Ethernet wire from the ISP hub to the Netduma, as that is often the culprit, and also try different ports.

 

Also make sure you find out whether you're actually supposed to be using IPv6 or not, since that can directly affect your speeds. Please let us know if these suggestions help
