Netduma not working with Destiny, Beavers errors every game.

Recommended Posts

I'm using the Destiny profile and I'm having the same error of beaver a lot. Like from 10 matchmaking in 9 I get booted. I recently bought the router and it hasn't

work for me. It boot me from matches where the ping to the host are at 25ms or less and let me playing in the worst matches where the ping goes from 87ms and up.

Seriously I don't undestand why it let me play in the worst scenario matches and boot me from the good quality games. I'm sending some ID that I copy just when the

game boot me. And if it help I see in the geo-filte that it block some host and then show a yellow exclamation sign. If this help my location is in PR.

This is speculation but it might be because destiny switches host as you load in? maybe it finds us the host close by, thus connecting players who are not close to you. Then as it loads you in the lobby it maybe switches the host to someone who is outside your distance filter range that connected to origins host you found which was close to you, thus resulting in you being booted since the host is not a match to your distance filter. Don't quote me on that but maybe that is why we are all getting booted from destiny?

destiny went to a cbmm a few months ago if not a pure cbmm then as bungle normally do a possible hybrid of cbmm and sbmm maybe a 60-40 split (im just guessing here or just another theory about the split/hybrid idea) i know they went to cbmm as everyone on the bunghole forum was asking for it due to the amount of red bar players in the crucible and guess what the lobbies went worse , just tonight i had a player who would be shooting me and then teleport across the map and teleport back again and kill me so it happens , bungholes way of doing things is terrible everyone knows how inconsistant there pvp game is (there is one youtuber i follow who wont play crucible for this reason but he will play other online games like cod/battlefield etc he also does funny and random vids about other games) , there is an oz streamer who in his streams sums up the crucible in his streams the crucible in a nutshell (when is a headshot not a headshot) names upon request as i dont want to break any forum rules.

now when your joining the crucible it says searching for guardians then evaluating guardians at this stage i think it is checking your connection ping etc (maybe fraser can expand on that more as he will know the ins and outs on a tech level) now many times i have been the flag holder for my team and i have dominated the map most times , wether this is a way to tell from the game that your the host i dont know , according to the duma team you can tell from the geo but as the circles are often that close together its almost impossible to tell at times..

and as a duma owner for a few years (btw fraser my isp only expects a router to last around 3 or 4 years , i know this as my isp router just fell over from old age at the grand old age of 7 , how does the r1 stand in this ?) and as a destiny player (at least 2600hrs) i often mither fraser and the duma geeks about new servers , bunghole error codes etc , as a poster said oop there above me this is where the community comes in with server id's to improve the duma lists to improve game play , and im afraid until the new duma os is out fraser is going to get mithered even more (hint hint) and get more grey hairs lmfao.

there have been many ppl on the forums saying the r1 is no good i want a refund etc , but to the duma army and geeks working through the problems and set up for there particular area/isp/equipment etc a lot of problems do get solved and ppl see the advantage of the duma atm for the op its just a time of fine tuning things (btw reddit isnt all that reliable as at times its just a forum for bitching and then they get corrected and the corrector gets corrected etc etc and before you know it the thread has moved onto the best blueberry muffins lol.

Sorry to break it to you but in no shape or form has destiny 1's matchmaking in pvp gone strictly CBMM. There is a high percentage of sbmm involved other than in trials of orsiris. In their language it's to protect the average casual player from the growing amount of v decent players.

In fact even in the beta they did not want to scare off any potential buyers by matching them against a bunch of decent players lol..

So for that reason they had strong sbmm perimeters to keep the casual pared with the casual and the slightly more skilled players with players alike

The reality is, Destiny uses BOTH sbmm AND cbmm
I see all the posts wanting to remove sbmm, but the fact is that Destiny matchmaking has always used both when matching players though they may weight it a bit more one way or the other.

There are a few things here that need to be understood.

1) Destiny matches players by region first. The reasons for this are obvious as players who live closer together will experience less latency when playing.

2) cbmm is great in theory just like sbmm, but it tends to be a lot more fun for one team than the other as matches are generally blowouts.

This may be an improvement for some as the wins are more fun, but it's something to factor

3) Even with cbmm, once you start playing in fireteams everything goes out the window. When you have players teamed up from different states and countries across hundreds and thousands of miles, there is going to be a lot of latency just within fireteams, so trying to then do cbmm vs other teams is going to be hard to do particularly when I think everyone tends to agree fireteams should face other fireteams (who will potentially have their own latency discrepancies)

4) People just have shitty internet and even matched cbmm, people are going to go red

I'm not saying that Bungie can't do better about trying to find a solution to red bars being at such an advantage and topping leaderboards, but going purely cbmm would lead to a whole different level of frustration on the forums
English

this is a post by lost sols who has made a lot of posts about destiny and has in the past been banned by the bungle forum mods for his views on the game and he has spent a long time looking into the game and its systems etc.

Curious, How does the adding I.d.'s work exactly Fraser?

It seems as he is providing you the id's to the peer2peer players he is attempting to connect to and not a server of any sort. Does this mean those players id's will be whitelisted for everyone; and end up allowing us to connect to them when we matchmake even when they are not near us since they are whitelisted? if so this is confusing since his region/area is not the same as ours. Still learning about the workings of the cloud & hope to understand it a little better :)

Some may be players, if they are I will ignore them. If they're servers then I'll whitelist them. As far as I can tell they're authentication servers so you require a connection to it to play the game.

Yes it searches for players making sure you can connect to them all. If it can't connect you to a player it may find another within your radius or allow a connection through a dedicated server that you can connect to. Then when you get booted it's because there is some kind of server that you can't connect to which is what I add to the cloud.

Not sure mike, it's coming up to 3 years for us in December so 75% of 4 years so far!

So I finally got around to playing some Destiny, been very busy. My experience tonight was not much better at all. Out of 12 games, I got booted from 5, 3 were full of laggy players mostly from overseas, 2 were join in progress 3v6(that's clearly a Destiny thing not on you guys) and that left only 2 games that I'd consider had good connections, one was the first game of the night which took 12 minutes to matchmake a 4v4 but it was the best experience, after that she went downhill fast.

I got some images as you asked, well only 2 because 4 of the 5 times it was from the same server/host.

First one ID: 7734bf8ad116454a looks like Malaysia? http://imgur.com/j9Tgwlx

Second one(that came up 4 times in 7 games) ID: c7369c67d3664a4f Australia, for some reason one of the times it changed it's ID but it was the exact same padlock on the map, same distance of 683km, ID: 6a6e2bf60b090f14 Australia. http://imgur.com/NTluTXi

Thank you! I'll add these to my list.

Have these been added yet? First game of the night just now, booted/beaver error, same as last night 683km away with ID: c7369c67d3664a4f

EDIT: Make that booted 5 out of 6 games from that same server/host which is well within my set range of 1500km.

well, from what ive witnessed so far while using geo filter (strict mode off) & playing ps4 destiny in United States are a few things.

  • finding a lobby with geo filter active is easy, it searches and connects you to a host in your area if thats how you have the distance set.
  • once it finds enough players (6 out of 6 for example in the skirmish playlist) it then begins loading the match or "flying you in" as they say in destiny.

my assumption is that the 1 game you didn't get booted from happened to keep the same host the geo filter connecting you to initially.

to my understanding AS its flying you into the match, the lobby continues to choose one of you as host when it already chose one in the beginning of matchmaking (which is the person you connected to that's in your geo filter range), & when it starts flying you in it can possibly change the host to someone that is not in your GeoFilter distance thus causing the disconnects/boots/beaver errors.

I encountered a situation where the host i connected to in my geo filter ended up backing out/leaving the match mid game and Destiny quickly chose a different host which so happened to be one outside of my geo filter range. This also led to me being booted & receiving the beaver error.

there may need to be some sort of intermittent auto turn-off switch on the geo filter that way after it connects you to the host, it shuts itself off to keep you in the lobby even if the p2p lobby changes host mid game. Because if/when it does change mid game to a host outside your range , the geo filter thinks "uh oh this person is outside your filter distance, I need to block them that way you don't connect to them" then quickly gives you the hot boot.

we are not being booted because we cannot connect to a dedicated server, destiny 1 PVP only uses servers for game data like tracking score kills and deaths. thing like that . then the host's console handles the gun shooting, players movement, kill feed and so on. "Destiny 1 hosting duties such as player physics, shooting mechanics, are performed by player consoles and only script and mission logic ran in the dedicated data center"

similar things seem to happen in uncharted 4 as well. the people that appear in my geo-filter-circle won't have any movement issues/hickups the whole game (which is usually like 2-4 people), but those who are outside my geo filter circle (typically around 4-7 people) will periodically appear to have their character dragging/skipping across the screen as if the geo filter is dropping the packets that depict their player movement. like if the duma is trying to block you from connecting to them or something.. ends up causing strange player movement from people outside geo filter range.

Fraser I'm really sorry to bother again but I've been trying to play Destiny recently and the beaver error won't let me join a single match.

I know bungie did recently a maintenance and the error in the game start again. Here I been colecting some ID in the geo filter and I hope

they help in some way.  Thanks in advance for the help.

Can confirm , still being kicked from matchmaking with geo filter on , strict mode off, cloud set to auto and bleeding edge, and distance set to 750miles. Continuously receiving beaver error (played some Saturday, and just now). Like we said it will find us players near by then as the match loads you in it will change host resulting in booting.. that smart geo filter thing I mentioned would come in handy.. when I manually try to disable geo filter myself after finding a match , it seems as if the filter is still active (my assumption is the anti cheat kicking in) because I still end up being booted and receiving beaver error in destiny 1 ps4.

also still getting packet loss errors with geo filter enabled in uncharted 4.could be the geo filter ignoring packets from people outside my filter range, which is causing the game to think I have packet loss issues.

UPDATE: just found a match in 6v6 destiny clash. thought I was safe & got half way in score then got booted from lobby. host probably changed mid game, geo filter did its job and ignored host outside my range which resulted in me being booted. = problematic . geo filter should shut itself off during match to keep from you being booted after already finding a lobby. Unfortunately no additional I.d.'s will solve this, seems more like a distance filter issue even with strict mode off :/

These were all players, please just get the IDs for anything that appears blocked when you get booted otherwise it's very time consuming for the both of us & doesn't help unfortunately.

As I mentioned previously I'm happy to take a look in a 1 on 1 with you. If a server has not previously been connected then it wouldn't get blocked when disabling before joining. Please make a 1 on 1 and I can have a look.
