Netduma set up and Wifi issues

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I got a Netduma since June 2017 and i spent a lotta time of testing the best set up for COD IW. Nothing helped. I tried now the same settings on blops3 and everything is fine. For the first time since blops3 is released i could play core modes and it was hell of a fun. I realized that some COD servers are not working well. Im living in Austria and due to my geo-filter settings i get connected to a dedicated server in germany or italy. In germany i get a not so bad ping 24 to 30.

So everything was fine.

But the bigger problem is the server In italy, there i have from 44 to 60ms ping. So i traced this one too:

Its going from several europe servers to the server in the usa. After i changed my home location on the netduma it is connecting me only to the german server. For that you have to untick strickt mode and everything is fine.

When i connected my netduma to my isp modem/router combo i had issues finding the r1 on the wifi list and couldnt even enter the surface. So i restarted both routers and suddenly it worked.

My main issues are that often the r1 is kicking out my devices which are connected via wifi with the netduma, like my tv, laptop and two smartphones. Also the surface is freezing so that i cant even click on anything and i have to restart the routers again. Is it better that i connect my other devices on the modem/router combo so that i only use the r1 for gaming? In the beginning i couldnt even save profiles and since yesterday i cant load them. I guess there is a problem with the software. I hope its gonna be fixed with an update.

Yesterday i tried to play blops3 again but the problem was i had to set up everything again because all my added devices were suddenly gone. I hope somebody here can give me tipps how i can avoid this.

Thanks in advance and greetings from austria, peace.

Yep the 3 Netduma units Ive have/had do the same thing, nothing i tried fixes it.

Although randomly it works fine.

For me if i had to guess id say to much wifi through put crashes it.

As ive moved the most bandwidth hungry kids to ethernet and it hasnt crashed yet.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Firstly don't worry about trace as it is inaccurate - focus on the ping. I assure you if it was making a pit stop in the US you would have a much higher ping than that.

Just temp ban or exclude the Italian server from your radius if you do not want to play on that server.

Check this guide for your WiFi issues: http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000022405-why-does-the-netduma-wifi-keep-dropping-out-

What do you mean by surface? Do you mean the Microsoft Surface? If so make sure you are using the Google Chrome browser as that is recommended.

Do you unplug the router at all?

Hi Fraser,

Yeah it freezes, i thought is my new laptop, but then i tried to oper another tab and opened youtube for example and everything was fine. Yes, im using the google chrome browser like recommended. No, i dont unplug the router. What do u mean with unplugging the router and which one, the netduma?

Thx

Yeah, what i realized is that sometimes everything works fine and some days a few features wont. I dont get it. Maybe i will connect all my wireless connected devices with my standard router and nust use the r1 for gaming.

No worries! Make sure you're using the default theme from miscellaneous settings. The V2 theme can cause some issues. Check here as well as it may resolve that issue: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/19266-slow-gui-interface-the-solution-is-here/

Yes the Netduma, if you have no settings/devices then it could indicate that the router is being unplugged/factory reset.

I've also moved your topic to general support.
