What has happened to my Netduma?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

My Netduma has worked flawlessly since I got it in late 2015. Ever since I got Sky Q at the weekend (coincidentally) my Netduma has been playing up.

All was working fine even after Q was installed but on Saturday night when trying to log onto the router 192.168.88.1, I couldn't get logged on. Doing an ipconfig it appears my laptop was getting a DHCP address from my plusnet router instead of the Netduma, (192.168.1.* address) - I tried tirelessly to get this working to no avail, even stranger, I couldn't get logged onto the plusnet router neither.

So I reset to default settings both devices and started again now my Laptop is getting the correct, 88. address from the Netduma however I can't get internet access, the Netduma cannot see the Plusnet 192.168.1.254 address! I have tried different cables for the record!

I'm not sure what else to try. I have a Plusnet Router going from my ADSL connection and then a cat5 cable from that into the Netduma. I can log onto the Netduma fine, going to Devices it doesn't even see an WAN IP anymore.

Any ideas?

Ok, the plot thickens. I input my plusnet username/pw into the PPOE settings on the netduma (never had to do this before), there is still no WAN IP visible bit the internet works. My Laptop is getting a 88.* address which is good, however all wireless devices are getting the plusnet IP .1. address still..

I tried as you requested but no joy. Should I try disabling DHCP on the plusnet?

EDIT: No joy, I renewed the lease on the SSID on the iPhone and its still picking up a 192.168.1. address despite DHCP being disabled...

Again, just more content for you, see the picture. The physical connection says connected to the Plusnet-2WZ6, my Laptop goes into a 10 port switch which in turn goes into the netduma so why is my Laptop thinking its connected straight into the Plusnet router?

ipconfig says I have a 88. address but going into the properties of the physical connection it says a 1. address.

Netduma is currently picking up nothing in devices despite WIFI being disabled on the plusnet.

Hopefully someone has an idea, I need to sleep, been messing with this for hours :(

From your pictures, your wifi is connecting to the Netduma and the wire is connecting to Plusnet.

Your setup should be - modem (bridge mode) > netduma > switch> devices

That's correct yes. The laptop is physically connected into the netduma though, just via a switch. Nothing is plugged into the plusnet other than the netduma. The switch then goes into the netduma.

Remember I've had this setup since 2015 and suddenly doesn't work. Unless I'm missing something obvious from the setup whiz I don't think I am something is broke?

How do you set the plusnet to bridge mode?

If you remove the switch and have devices connected to the R1 directly does it behave as it should?

A device that's connected to the switch that shows a 1.x address does that show on the Duma device manager or on the Sky router as connected?
