I'm having Wifi issues, whenever I use my phone for an application the connection tends to "time out", load for too long, or I have to disconnect it and reconnect it or disable the the wifi in the Netduma settings then enable it again and put in all the information. It use to run fine, but for the past 3 weeks it has been doing this and I'm not sure what to do.

I've tried using the enable Wifi work around, I've constantly tried different channels (1, 6, and 11) I've restored the router to factory settings and nothing has fix this problem.

There's only 3 devices connected to it at a time, a kindle and 2 phones, but I always have this problem. Is there anything else I could try?

also wifi channels 1, 6 and 11 are the most common is use so it may be that there is channel interference unless you have used a wifi scanner to check theres no close by wifi on that channel.

Here are a few easy suggestions:

Change to PSK2 security

Set static IPs for these devices in DHCP lease

Change DNS to OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

See if they resolve the issue.

Okay, so I've always used PSK2 security, I've tried setting the static IP and the DNS you suggested, it got a little better, but still hangs a lot. I don't know what happened, but it just doesn't work flawlessly anymore.

These channels aren't suppose to overlap eachother, but I live in nyc, in an apartment building, so it does, and I honestly forgot about this problem, so I did this https://ibb.co/cJCJrF to find the best channel for me, and I see some changes, but not enough, not sure what else I can do.

Get yourself a wifi extender or wifi access point so you can access 2.4Ghz/5Ghz bands.  It's one more device but all your wifi issues will be solved.

I might do this. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I just find it weird how it use to work with no problems, but not anymore.

Is there anything that's changed recently? Perhaps with your setup? Have you moved any wireless devices close to the router? I think it was Bagsta who had an issue of wireless devices in close proximity to the router messing with the wifi.

I got a Ps4 Pro, that's about it that changed. I think I figured it out just now.... I recently factory reset my router and I set it to use my 230 mbps bandwidth, but it didn't save it, when I did a speed test on my pc I was only getting about 40 mbps for download and I think the wifi just wasn't getting enough bandwidth period, so I set it back up and made sure my PC was getting my speeds and now the wifi is good. Lol. Smh.

Can you try turning off turbo mode please and see if that resolves your issue. If not try preemptive and see if that works. I realise your speed will be lowered but want to see if it's the cause

I don't know what happened, but now my router wont connect to anything at all. I tried restarting it, leaving it unplugged for 5 minutes, and rebooting my modem, still nothing would connect to it, nothing hard wired or wireless, so I tried factory resetting it and that didn't work either, I can still get into it's settings, but nothing works so now I'm connected directly into my modem. Before any of this started web pages stop loading then said there was a DNS issue, but then immediately changed to saying there's no internet connection, also everytime I restarted the Duma through the setting it would say there was a msc. error please contact Netduma forums.

Did you change any settings other than the ones I mentioned? Did you change DHCP settings for example? Unplug the Netduma, reboot the modem then after 30 seconds plug in the R1 and see if you have internet.

Didn't change anything and I did a factory reset, and even though I did that already I tried doing what you suggested again and it still didn't work....

Do you see the WAN IP in Device Manager? If you can't see this go to Settings > WAN and make sure static is disabled.

Otherwise completely unplug the router for 24 hours, and then plug in and see if you have internet.

I see the WAN IP and I try to have insert that number into the DMZ Host on my modem and it never works, idk why. I left the Duma unplugged for nearly 2 weeks and now it works again, but why would it randomly stop connecting?

What do you mean by it never works? It doesn't save? If you're referring to the fact that the blue box on the duma device manager is still there - it won't go away but it's nothing to worry about. I don't know why that's occurred but keep us updated on if it continues to work.

When I enter the WAN IP into my modem under DMZ Host that warning sign never goes away, so I assume it never works.

Okay, so stuff like this keeps happening when I'm hardwired to the Duma

forum.netduma.com’s server DNS address could not be found.

I don't know where to find that tbh

Okay probably using auto then which is fine. Can you try everything from here just to cover all bases please:

  • Don't put the router on the floor
  • Don't put it in a corner or a cupboard
  • Channel change to least congested
  • PSK2 Security mode
  • No wireless devices nearby e.g. wireless headphones etc, definitely not near a microwave
  • Make sure all devices connect via automatic settings aka - no static IPs set on them individually
  • Set a static IP for the Duma on your ISP hub
  • Set ALL devices on the Duma with a static IP in DHCP lease
  • Make sure all those IPs fall within the DHCP range aka .100-.250
  • Disable stealth mode in misc settings
  • Also try turbo mode off and preemptive algorithm

Now the Wifi stopped working.... The router is literally on the wall hanging... and I've tried all of those except the static IP stuff.... I shouldn't have to do any of that for my Wifi or anything hardwired to work anyway.... This router is literally dying...
