TheEpTic Posted March 15, 2017 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Hi, I recently got a netduma and I must say, amazing router. Has done me very well so far. But today I ran in to a very strange issue. Around 7pm (GMT), my router decided to randomly reboot itself. Upon rebooting, (not just this time, I noticed in the past when I manually rebooted too) it decided to reset almost all of my settings. The only ones that would actually save were DHCP reservations and WIFI details. This means every time the router loses power or just restarts, I have to go in and setup everything all over again including device names, and bandwidth limits. This can't be good at all. Another precaution you can take is to make your own profile, save all your settings in there and export it - that way if something unexpected makes you lose your settings you can just import them back in. Another precaution you can take is to make your own profile, save all your settings in there and export it - that way if something unexpected makes you lose your settings you can just import them back in. I've enabled "Save cookies" multiple times. It seems to only save the personal information, but none of the important stuff like device names. TheEpTic Posted March 19, 2017 Author Share Posted March 19, 2017 I left it a few days with the cookie option enabled (like before) - Killing power to the device still causes loss of settings, including cookie option. I really don't think this is an issue with cookies... These are device settings disappearing upon loss of power which shouldn't be acceptable for any device. Essentially, no matter what I try (yes, I read your post about enabling cookies and rebooting), I can't keep my settings at all no matter what method is taken to power down the device. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted March 20, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted March 20, 2017 So just to clarify how the Netduma saves the settings; every ~1 hour, the settings are saved onto the router. (Or at least they should be). Rebooting the router from Misc is recommended because it's supposed to save the settings before rebooting. If you have cookies enabled, you're using Firefox or Chrome, and you're rebooting from Misc, then there could be something wrong with your Netduma. What settings are lost upon rebooting from Misc? Do you still lose every setting? Do you know if the random reboot at the beginning was caused by a power cut / surge? Have you tried factory resetting the Netduma? Also to clarify, never reboot in any way other than clicking "Reboot Router" in Misc settings. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I wasn't able to test further since we recently changed modem (our old one was dying, causing slow speeds). I've followed every step you've posted, and only a couple of settings remain. DHCP leases, and wifi details are primarily the ones. I believe custom DNS servers are saved too. I have not tried factory factory resetting the router.
