bagsta69 Posted February 27, 2017 Share Posted February 27, 2017 OK just wondered if any Mac users know why my MacBook Pro keeps dropping the netduma wifi and then refuses to reconnect. To get it to connect again I have to change the wifi channel. Then it connects again no problem, this is happening once a day. My pc's, iPad and iPhone have no issues at all. Just as a side note I too sometimes have issues with the WiFi - not the Duma specifically but from my VIrgin hub. I read online that the antennas are around the hinge and that opening the screen more/less can have an affect on this. Sometimes bags when you connect to wifi your MacBook connects to a network other than the one you want it to, there all your networks or use to be or it might connect to 2 g instead of 5 g etc. You see that little icon on the upper left hand corner (your wifi network) click on it and make sure it's connecting to the network you want it to.If it's not go into System Preferences > Network > Advanced and then put the network you want to connect to every time with your MacBook first in order if it isn't already. This may or may not not be your issue but it was mine, it kept connecting to my 2.4 g network not the 5 grafter I switched it around no more issues. bagsta69 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bagsta69 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Share Posted February 28, 2017 just to update you, i have just lost connection again using WPA-PSK2 security mode. moved from one room to another, ten minutes later lost connection. changed channel and connected fine. Im thinking it might have something to do with the usb 3 c that the mac uses as mentioned in the aforementioned article as the mac it the only device with this issue and it is also the only device with usb 3/c. would be interesting to see if other people who complain of dropping the wifi all the time also have usb 3/c. Waiting for delivery of thunderbolt to ethernet cable so when I'm in mission control it won't even be an issue. bagsta69 Posted March 4, 2017 Author Share Posted March 4, 2017 Quick update for you, This issue has been happening everyday. I do not know why. If I select another channel it re connects no issue. However I have discovered that if I get within about ten feet of the router the MacBook will reconnect on the same channel and then continue fine no matter which room I go back into.
