Would there be anyone here willing to go step by step on putting a centurylink actiontec C1000A router into transparent bridging mode and set up the netduma as the router? I've tried several times but when I put the C1000A into the bridge mode I loose the Internet service that goes into it. I thought maybe it's because my PPPOE is disabled on the duma.. Which didn't change anything. So far since I got my netduma all I've done is put the prescribed IP address in the DMZ hosting on the Actiontec C1000A router. Which was fine until we added more gaming consoles in the house and now all NAT type's are moderate or strict. Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated this tech stuff is confusing and Google isn't much help. Thanks again

ya i read that yesterday. was no help. when i apply the transparent bridge ti my ActionC1000A router i loose all access to both the actiontec and netduma. i can still however have access to the netduma wirelessly. after that i have no internet. ive changed ip addresses in my computer like the video ive seen on here but that dont help. im at a total loss.

is there info i need to enter into the neduma? ive tried the PPPoE in the settings on the duma but it didnt do anything. basicly when i put my ISP into transparent bridge mode it just dont do anything until i hold the reset button and reset the whole thing.

I just tried that. Still no connection to the Internet with the netduma when the Actiontec is in bridge mode. I've unplugged both and still I get nothing. It's like when I put the Actiontec in bridge mode it shuts off all access to the netduma and the Internet.

Nothing else can be plugged into the actiontec but the netduma and it must be port specific. Double check which lan port you're in from the Duma to the actiontec, as well as make sure the Duma is set to dhcp on the wan settings so it will obtain an addressed based on the dumas mac address. The dslam will record your user saved mac and hand an ip across the rfc bridge.

You may have to give it a few minutes  to drop the old mac from the actiontec and renew ip based on your dumas mac. Some have reported having issues with configuring the c1000a with certain browsers. I personally believe it was just a cache issue with their browser but try a few. Chrome, firefox, safari, opera, etc

Yup. The duma is connected to port 1 of the Actiontec. Dhcp is enabled. Both router work fine until I put the Actiontec into transparent bridging mode. Then it's like the Internet switch gets turned off until I factory reset the Actiontec. I've tried entering my ISP credentials into the netduma but nothing happens. Dns is enabled but I can't add anything. I believe the mac ip is enabled also.

I've also waited a few hours with everything set in the bridge mode. I've unplugged both routers several times 30 second's to 1 minute. It just seems there is some sort of block that's not letting the netduma receive the Internet.

Don't enable anything with the MAC unless your ISP forces you to use their modem/gateway. Then what you can do is record the MAC for their modem and enable mac spoofing on the Duma and enter the actiontec mac. This will fool their dslam into thinking the hardware is theirs and hand out the ip.

If so then you need to reset both unplug all but your laptop or pc used to config and first record the wan mac address of your actiontec. I will be hexadecimal like E4:8D:8C:xx:xx:xx.  Then unplug the laptop and reboot the actiontec with nothing plugged into it but phone lines. Now go to your freshly reset duma, and go straight to MISC, turn on PPPOE and enter your credentials you use normally for the actiontec.  Wan ip disabled. WAN mac address enabled and now add the MAC you recorded from the actiontec to this location.  IPV6 disabled, mtu auto. APPLY and plug the Duma into the LAN1 of the actiontec and log into the actiontec with laptop on port 2 and set the actiontec to bridge mode, apply and immediately when the actiontec goes through its reboot stage unplug the laptop leaving only the Duma in LAN1.

It depends on your service. If you're getting void or video then you more than likely have tags for vlans on your wan in order to segment the traffic to different subnets to avoid packet collision and video packets from intro to lan packets and vice versa. But you'd have set top boxes from century link etc.
