DumaOS Announcement: Development Progress & Testing

What he means is how iffy it is trying to control the UI from a mobile phone. Sometimes things don't register or load right. I've used chrome for mobile and my preinstalled browser. I feel like an app for netduma would be a great fix for all that though it does take a bit of time and knowledge to develop one and as it is the focus is purely on the duma OS so that probably won't happen unless the netduma team are mostly completely on the new build and have time or they would have to hire someone to build the app for them, which I don't see happening because of cost perhaps? I could be wrong. But it would still be very neat nonetheless.

Seeing as how this router was designed for PC and console gamers, it's doubtful they will redesign the interface or create an app interface to appease the select few. I wouldn't bet on it.

Actually an app for the netduma has been discussed in the past and is on the list as an eventual possible inclusion: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/19991-dumaos-announcement-development-progress-testing/?view=findpost&p=144914

They were working on an app over a year ago. There haven't been any updates on it in many months. I'm sure they abandoned it.

That post was from March this year and states it'll be looked at AFTER DumaOS launches, so I doubt work has started on it.

I wasn't referring to your post. I know what it says. Since it went over your head. I was referring to the fact that they were working on an app over a year ago. It was never released and updates on progression came to a halt a long time ago. It was supposed to help you take things with a grain of salt.

Not over my head, just not referring to past issues in a thread that's about a future OS. Just keeping things relevant and avoiding misinformation for those fresh to the thread.

If a dog bites you once, you will never have the same level of trust ever again, even if it never happens again. Going into the future without learning from the past or at least being mindful of it, is not a very smart thing to do. You are just asking to get bitten again.

The more bugs I find with the existing firmware is making me more impatient for the new Duma OS.  Come on Duma team, leggggo!!!!!!! I now need it!!

OK so pleae to help mus with the new OS what bugs have you found with the old one, please be as specific as possible so that we can isolate the issue and make sure that it is not an issue in OS2.,

What exactly is your issue with the existing firmware/software?

I have made topics on them but here are two big ones off the top of my head.

1.  If I move the CC slider from 100% to 99% I lose 10-15M of my band width. I have a 50meg DL line.

2.  My most recent one with IPV6 where CC does not work with this enabled for IPV6 protocol.

Also I have yet to see this issue but the recommendation form Netduma to disable IPV6 for people with a lot of bandwidth. My bandwidth is probably not high enough to see any issue here just stating here

How are you losing 10-15mbits just by moving cc to 99%? Lol that makes no sense, I have a 15mbit download and I get exactly the percentage of which it is set every single time. Never failed once. Half the time I'm still debating on if my speeds are even worth dropping it any lower than 100% lol. Your IP does not have anything to do with congestion control working or not. Those are completely different code. I almost can't tell if your trolling or actually being serious about your issues. No hate but honestly. As far as speed goes with it what are you setting your speeds at when it asks for them in the beginning? Because when I do mine it's always accurate I set 15 download and 1 upload and the percentage always come out about right or better which I don't think it should ever go over to be honest but sometimes it does and I can see maybe some error in that. It should never do that. Maybe your right and it is a bug. It just doesn't seem very likely. Also are you testing your speed wired to PC with literally no other device connected? I have very few devices so no matter if I'm wired or wireless it's typically the same since my router is literally a foot from me as I type this.

That's nice that you don't experience the same issue as others, but that doesn't mean anything. Issues may not be global as is my experience. I have a 150MB connection. When I set cc to 99% my bandwidth is almost cut in half. This is all with a proper configuration. Something is causing skewed readings.

I think one of the mods was looking into making an app a while back, it wasn't an official Netduma app as far as I know, not sure what happened to it though (might have been before my time).

In which case, if it was abandoned, it wasn't abandoned by Netduma because it wasn't being developed by Netduma.

But like Matty linked to, if there's going to be an official Netduma app then it won't be at launch.

It would be pretty cool but I'm not sure I'd use it much as my laptop is pretty much attached to me.

I experience the same issue, lose 10-15% of download speed with 1% change on CC, i have 115mbps download. I don't use CC, i use reactive instead. Besides CC is not user friendly with 30+ devices, all of them share 3% in CC ;-)

Why is a mobile app needed when phones have browsers? I use geofilter with the touchscreen all the time. One problem I have with the mobile browser is that the "legend" covers too much of the map, so I have to untick "Show Legend".

A dev's life is a nightmare.  Provide an update, and get swarmed with additional requests for updates.  Fact of the matter is: it will be done WHEN it's done.

I'm just like all of you, waiting for when it will be released.  Since we can't force it, all you can do is try to be patient.  All they can do is try to get it done ASAP, without having to answer every post about when it'll be done.  And so we are where we are.

Chill out, maybe go get a breath of fresh air.  It'll be good for yours (and their) health and well being ;) .
