TBH If your network is that messed up where the duma is not beneficial to you right now, I would not hold my breath for the DumaOS to fix it and make a certain game playable.  If it does, now that would be truly revolutionary and i will be ready for Netduma stock to sky rocket (figure of speech).  I am not being a pessimist here just keeping my expectations of what a router can do for your network realistic.

Hey buddy, my network is fine. lol

I'm referring to playing Infinite Warfare itself not my network. Infinite Warfare doesn't play by any of the rules of previous call of duty franchises trust me. I have put in countless hours of testing here. No it may not be a cure all, but just like how the netduma revolutionized gaming on BO3, I would love to see this on IW. Which is why people want to see jitter/spike capabilities. BO3 and IW are not the same game. what worked there does not always translate over.  Base ping has the most to do with game play over distance, congestion control, and etc.. in my option. I avg about 15-30 base ping and it seems that IW doesn't take any of that into consideration which is why I've been sticking to my modem.

I HOPE IT CAN IMPROVE GAME PLAY FOR SOME, ITS OKAY TO HAVE EXPECTATIONS OF THIS. IF NOT, WHY UPDATE ANYTHING AT ALL RIGHT??

Really I'm not expecting much in the anti jitter aspect. Looking forward to a more intuitive gui. The reason why I'm not expecting much for the jitter feature is because once our packets leave are LAN, there is nothing the Duma can do. Especially if someone has crap internet and/or crap cabling, i would be shocked if DumaOS fixes that but hey i would be more than happy to eat crow. And the DumaOS fixes it all would be sweet. I've had good experiences with other brand routers with gaming and only give the netduma a slight edge over my asus right now. Basically i am hoping to avoid people posting that the new anti jitter did not fix anything all because their expectations were too high.

As great man once said, If don't expect anything then you will never be disappointed.

I get what you're saying I do. Don't expect it to fix your problems, then you won't be disappointed. I like the GUI design as well.

I'm running 300down 25up, I would use cat6 Ethernet cables from modem to duma to ps4. I never have problems with much jitter/spikes but if I can get improvements there it would help. We don't know if they have anything else they may add or not. we have only seen a screenshot and got insight into a couple features that are in it. I would like to think that they have heard how useless the duma is for IW overall for gamers and have done some tweaking to help out even in the smallest of way. That is why so many people are constantly checking daily, getting frustrated, etc.. Best believe they are going to be posting alot if it dose'nt do anything lol. I believe it will though, a sign for me, is the length it has taken to release. I would like to believe it will make an impact, but we shall see XSXS!! We shall see.... lol

For those who have been here since day 1 it has been a looping wait for anti jitter. When they released 1.03.6 it was expected to include anti-jitter and hyperlane. It included hyperlane and profile to which hyperlane cause issues saving profiles. So we went through a lot of changes early on the get to 1.03.6 and sure, we didn't get anti-jitter for that release AND we've had to sit through the better part of a year with some bugs here and there and of course some cloud issues but for the most part I believe it will be worth the wait as usual. The netduma fixes your local area network issues. It uses fairness and priorities in an easy to click manner for the average Joe Gamer. It cannot fix bad chips on modems, bad isps, and it will not make you game like some famous/infamous YT'er. I see posts everyday with new guys and old guys expecting to come on here and blame the netduma for all their ISP jotter, packet loss or their own lack of understanding how to perform basic tasks such as DMZ, DHCP vs. Static or dhcp lease. Who the hell would ever think a game programmer would sell a game worldwide that only request one f'ing port vs a range? People need to see the Duma for what it DOES do vs. Blaming it for what it cannot control. This is not directed at anyone in particular just a daily rant.

Yes you are right p00psm00thie, and have some good points.  Your choice of isp will greatly determine how your gaming experience will be. Some isp's block ports for gaming for security, some may offer speeds to low to game in your area, or the isp provided equipment has bad chip set. Their are a couple Docsis 3.1 modems out now that will preform great without the problems that plaqued many isp's.  Alot of gaming related issues are caused by natural jitter/spilkes on the line as well and can sometimes be fixed by calling out a tech.

Taking the time to learn about your isp, modem, and netduma router will help gauge where there may be problems are coming from. Me personally, I have spent so much time and money investing in the right equipment and just learning a vast amount information that all ties into gaming. It's important to do everything you can on your end even if you end up with the same result.

Teachers, preachers, and hoes they all wanna get screwed.

Lock up your girlfriends Gents, Prince Charming is on the prowl.

Joking aside, let's not reinforce the stereotype regarding gamers being misogynist a-holes in here.

I am waiting to see if new OS will use Cake as qdisc, if can determine Packet Overhead for our connection,if we can set latency target for ingress or egress,if in queueing discipline can set dual or triple isolate...and so on....and especially if we can prioritize and set the length of packets or specific tcp packets like SYN,FIN.

Maybe these settings can be in a menu named "Advance settings"...if someone know what he is doing i think he must have the opportunity to "play" with these settings and have a much better game experience for his internet line.

Of course someone can choose the "default" settings... or something like that.

The netduma works for me the way it's supposed to. I haven't really had many problems with it, aside from the wifi. But I'm not sure if that's my phone or if it's the netduma itself. I even am on a different channel too. I know for sure that jitter and ping Spikes plague me. I do however benefit from the congestion control. It could be better sometimes but of all the routers I've tested, be it stock firmwares ddwrt or tomato the netduma seems to help alot. I even set more download bandwidth for my console and that was a noticable difference vs letting it be all defaults, that way I wasn't going to get a random lag spike from another device calling for extra bandwidth for whatever reason suddenly and then my console speed drops because it's not set to a higher minimum and with a 15 DL connection it matters. It's made all my games smoother and I have even gotten a deatomizer finally. I'm not even using geofilter and that's mainly because I feel like adding a friend to the filter is a pain im the @ss. But when I had used the filter it didn't make much difference for IW. Bo3 yes. There's only so much you can do for your connection till duma os comes and even then we're just living on a prayer haha. But it's best to optimise it for the best possible outcome, sometimes you just have to back out of lobbies. Even people with flawless fiber do. What would really be game changing is keeping those really laggy players out of lobbies. I find on IW though almost ever person has a "4 bar".

How would you suggest adding a friend could be made easier?

I have issues as well, I Tired once adding some of boys friends when it was just him and two others sitting in orbit.  There were more than 3 circles on the map I could not tell who was who so I gave up.  I can also never tell who is host, the circles on the map change size constantly.

I added friends at the beginning of netduma and I would do it by starting a party chat and invite them one by one adding them to the white list, pretty simple really

hmmm, I bet that is why there were more than 3 circles on the map. He was in party chat and could have had more than his fireteam members in party chat.  I did not think about party chat members showing up on the map! Thanks!

I've noticed as they speak in party chat the circles change size based on who is on mic atm. But party chat is the fastest way to add friends. It's strange still, I have 2 friends in Florida, both on Comcast Cable and one circle shows up in Pennsylvania the other shows up in Kansas. Their IPS are in the same subnet even and their Geo information shows registered to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale area yet the netduma shows them differently.

@bbursley and @XSXS,

In my personal experience, I would add friends all the time. I generally never play solo and run with a full party. for adding friends, I would also start a chat and add everyone to my white list as stated above. If the party chat is full, expand your distance to cover where your friend lives. In the case of several friends, expand it across your country; once you see the dots start to appear, add them to your list and you can decrease your range after that. Me personally, I name everyone and start from 90 skipping 2 numbers down for each player. All of the servers are above 90 so you would never get confused about who's who and what's what.

That is interesting. I'll have to look at that. I've never seen that before.

What do you mean above 90?  TBH I cant tell the difference between players and the Destiny servers since all the circles change size and not one of them is way bigger than the others.

Yeah so under where you would ping a player or server, you have the allow & deny.

Which I call white-list and black-list. you can choose if you want to allow or deny a player or server based on lag, security, or whatever it may be. You have a quality slider that ranges from 0-100. Red is black-list, Green is white-list. So when I say 90, I'm saying that I pinged a server and liked the results. I moved the quality slider all the way to the right, and gave this server a 100. If it was a bad connection to the server, I would keep the slider to the left at 0 or below 50. For any other servers you would want make sure it is not the same number. I generally go down by 2 as a rule but you have alot of flexibility to determine what number falls into the white or black list if that makes sense.

I put a link here for you If I sounded like a robot or something. lol hope this helps

Yeah I really have not messes around with that green and red slider list.  How can you tell which circle is a server?  I read the biggest one but as mentioned before they all change sizes!

Right, well it depends on what game you are playing. Generally, if you start up the game for most FPS games after you go to the multiplayer screen on the game, refer back to whatever device you are using to monitor the geo filter. You'll have a couple minutes but all of the dedicated servers will appear. You can ping them here and determine which one you want to play on and where you need to set your home location. (you need strict mode on).

Who knows, with dumaOS these things may become more readily accessible to us.
