Netduma into B infinity 2 HH6 (moderate nat)

Recommended Posts

Hoping someone can help me. I recently bought a netduma and connected it to my BT home hub 6. I had managed to get an Open Nat with just the HH6 by DMZ my PS4. I assumed I would just have to DMZ my Duma on the BT settings and It would be sorted. Sadly not.

After some help from the technical team they advised some things to try. Below are all the ways I connected the router.

I reset my bt router and turned off Port Forwarding. I also switched off " Extended UPnP security which is an option on my BT router."

I turned off port forwarding and UPnp forwarding. This did not work "Moderate Nat".

I then tried this with DMZ on my BT router set to the ip of the Netduma. This also didn't work.

I then tried turning off UPnP and port forwarding to my PS4. This has worked earlier but unfortunately the router ran very slow. I did this with both DMZ on and off for the Netduma. Each time I have a moderate Nat.

Hoping someone can help because right now I can't even connect to a friend's party because of Nat issues

Hey, welcome to the forum!

You should have the WAN IP shown in the duma device manager in the DMZ of your hub - hard to tell if you were putting in the 192.168.88.1 address instead from what you've said. UPnP & port forwarding off on the hub as you've said.

Then UPnP OR port forwarding enabled on the Duma with UPnP forwarding disabled in miscellaneous settings. You should see NAT Type 2 in the console network settings which is open. CoD can be more tricky - I believe it actually shows an incorrect reading. As you've said it's possible with port forwarding do that. Make sure you're on the default theme of the router. This should resolve the slow down of the interface. If not remove the console from hyper traffic, does that resolve the issue

It sounds like the reason you can't connect to your friends party is because you need to add them to your allow list:

Yes that's incorrect. You need to input the WAN IP from the device manager into the DMZ section. I've attached a picture:

If it was me doing it I would copy that IP there and paste it into the DMZ section of the hub.

The bt smart hub will automatically pick up the duma under connected devices in the dmz section providing it's the only thing connected to the smart hub it should be the only thing to put in the dmz, once you have put it in remember to apply settings bottom of page on smart hub and give the console a hard reboot.

Ok so I managed to get it open by using port forwarding on the duma with the selected ports. I understand these are specific to PS4 / IW.

The issue now is the Duma interface takes ages to load which is what I had the issue with originally. This thing is literally unusable right now!!!

TCP
80-80
443-443
1935-1935
3074-3074
and start 3478 End 3480

UDP ports are
3074-3074
3478-3480

9307-9308

Meanwhile disable hyper traffic, does that resolve your issue?

If everyone posted in one topic who had the same issue it'd get very confusing.

You're not the one who needs to disable hyper traffic, that was to BOOM.

No once all settings are done you do not need to open the interface for them to take affect.

Surely this is in the same topic?

I will try disabling hyper traffic but I'm fairly sure I don't have it on or anything selected.

Should you open the UI before turning on a console?

Hey, just wanted to check how you're getting on. Let us know if you need help, and make sure you read what Fraser said. Do you still get a moderate NAT?

Hi jack,

I posted another thread about ongoing issues. I now have an open nat after port forwarding on the Duma. However I need to turn the console on before I turn on the host filtering or the user interface is impossibly slow.

However the issue I'm now having is that my friends can't join my lobbies. I have added them to the list using the 100% rating meter but they still can't join. They have a meditate nat and I'm open but this has always been the case and now is a problem. So to play with them I have to turn the host filtering off and then join another friend that they can join. But this then means I don't do the search for the games. Basically rendering the Duma useless.
