use usb to install everything, #ditchDVDdrive

Please explain. I am having MAJOR issues at the moment due to drivers and stuff and still haven't got my OS installed. Is it possible to put my OS form the CD onto a USB?

If it is PLEASE explain and I will be eternally grateful!!! :)

yes,

simply use http://wintoflash.com/home/en/to make a bootable USB drive for your OS. (note that if you have an x64 and x86 OS disc these don't work via USB)

that simple...enjoy!

I have windows 7 64 bit. I am guessing that that is x64?

If it it does that mean that I can't use usb.

Or is x64 the kind of disk?

Thanks

It will work fine, just use the above mentioned program.  IT works fine for x64 or x86 but not an install CD/DVD that does BOTH.

:)

then just boot to the usb drive/flash done.

Thanks SO much! This is the last place I though of getting help like this!

When you say that it won't do both, what is 'both'?

Sorry I am a bit nooby, lol

Thanks!

Like i have an All in One Windows 7 install DVD (it does the following)

* Windows 7 Starter x86

* Windows 7 Home Basic x86

* Windows 7 Home Premium x86

* Windows 7 Professional x86

* Windows 7 Enterprise x86

* Windows 7 Ultimate x86

* Windows 7 Starter x64

* Windows 7 Home Basic x64

* Windows 7 Home Premium x64

* Windows 7 Professional x64

* Windows 7 Enterprise x64

* Windows 7 Ultimate x64

because it has both x64 and x86 versions the way windows handles bootloading it doesn't work.  Since this isn't the case for you just forget i said anything about it :)
