Hey guys. I am considering buying a Netduma router for my ps4. The only game I play is fifa, but i play that  A LOT.

I live in the middle east and connection issues are very common for me...

I tried to research how much the netduma imporoved other people's fifa experience, but i haven't found much.

Do any of you play fifa17? If so, how much has the netduma improved your gaming experience strictly limited to fifa?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I can't comment as a player because I don't play the game. However, during testing I have found that I can block players in the middle east before. Therefore that means you would be able to force local connections to players in the middle east. This would significantly improve the connection over playing with people in Europe for example.

hey again.

I just received my router today and I have a couple of questions.

I have a modem in my house from the internet provider and a router was connected to it in my original setup. First I replaced this router with the Netduma one, but I had no internet this way.

Then I tried keeping the original router and connect the netduma to that one. (modem -> original router -> netduma)

It is working fine now, but I am now sure if this is the ideal set-up?!

Also, I am not sure what to do with port forwarding, upnp or dmz on either one of the routers. I got rid of all these settings in the original router, and left the netduma on default. I played a few games of fifa, and I was always the away team so I was not hosting the P2P games. Before adding the netduma I was the host almost always as I have a pretty decent connection.

Could you please let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance

A

It is quite possible you require PPPoE authentication, in which case you will need to input this information into WAN settings on the router. Then you should be able to do modem > R1. Otherwise rebooting from R1 miscellaneous should result in a connection.

If modem > R1 then just make sure you use UPnP OR port forwarding on the R1, not both & disable UPnP forwarding in miscellaneous settings.

If modem > router > R1 then have the same settings for the R1 and put the R1 WAN IP found in device manager in the DMZ section of the other router. Disable UPnP and any port forwarding on that router as well.

As there is just two of you & it is P2P there is no host per se. There is no networking reason the Netduma would make you be the away team more often than not.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm also struggling with FIFA 17. I ordered a Netduma mostly for that reason.

I received it yesterday and set all up but I still have this huge input delay.

There are some games that are better than the other but still everything delayed.

Is there maybe somebody who could help me with settings for FIFA?

Is this the right place to ask or should I start a new thread?

Hey, welcome to the forum! I'd recommend making a new thread since it'll be easier for our mods to see it and you'll get better help that way. Something to try for now though is these settings:

- 1000km Distance
- 50 Ping Assist
- Strict Mode Off
- 70% anti-flood
- Put your device in Hyper Traffic (in Congestion Control)
- Share excess enabled
- Reset device prioritisation & apply
- Disable deep packet in misc
- Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.

If you make sure you input those settings and it still occurs, please run an Internet Diagnostics test and let us know the results and your issue in another thread we'll help you further :)

How have you got on with the settings Jack suggested?

Hi, first I want to say that I really appreciate that you ask, I really feel that you care about the users problems.

Sadly it didn't improve with this settings.

My gameplay is so sluggish and slowed down. Sometimes better sometimes worse.

That started around Christmas time. Before that time I had almost excellent gameplay.

I spent so much time and money in trying to solve this problem but nothing helped. It is really hurting my nerves because I cant accept this.

That's why I bought the Netduma, because I thought It could help me with this game.

I don't play other games alot.

I really don't know what is causing this problem.

I read and heard so many things about this problem that many people have but some people never heard of it.

I hope somebody will find it out and my nightmare will be over  :)
