Painfully slow speeds.

Recommended Posts

I started to notice very slow downloads speeds and constant buffering when streaming Netflix and Hulu throughout my day and I'm having to reboot my modem just to get my connection back. I called the cable company a I was only able to achieve 4mbps...when we took the netduma out of the equation my speeds went back to normal which is 50/5. I just recently bought a new Xbox One S and so far it's taken me about 2days just to re-download BO3...why is this happing. Just did a speed test and literally got 50ping 1.12Down and 5.55Up. I did some reasearch and noticed others are having the same problem.

So far this is what I have tried:

Enter your speeds into bandwidth settings

Preemtive Algorithm since I only have 50/5

100% anti-flood

Share excess enabled

Reset device prioritisation & apply

Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc

Disable deep packet in misc

Do a wired speed test from a PC

I have turbo mode disabled since I'm not at 100mbps

Does anyone have a solution or suggestions?

Make sure you remove the Xbox from Hyperlane when downloading games/updates to your Xbox.

Hyperlane is only for small gaming packets, it will slow you right down if a large transfer hits it.

if you are talking about internet speed do the following:

Congestion Control:

-Change the radio button to reactive

-Make sure the sliders are 100% each

-Click Bandwidth and set it to appropriate values

Settings -> Misc

-UNCHECK Enable deep packet processing.

-CHECK turbo mode

report back

Changing the algorithm to reactive and having turbo mode ticked worked! I only have my Xbox under hyperlane. When doing the DSLreports test does it make a difference if the geofilter is on? I mean is there specific settings that should be on or off when doing the DSL test? Trying to get +A across the board

Getting +A is almost impossible! Started at 100% dropping 5% each time both download and upload I was able to get +A once I believe at 70%, I re-test and I lost the +A...correct me if I'm wrong here but the goal is to have the sliders set to consistanly give me +A

I purchased the NetdumaR1 about 2 months ago.  I'm on the 6h version.  I'm running it as the only router.  The Xb1 and the PS4 are both wired to Netduma.  However, my speeds are awful.  I have TWC ultimate at 300dl 20up.  When running speedtest through modem the speed is there.  When wired via Netduma the latency goes crazy and the download speeds drop to around 1mbps.  I've tried every change with Netduma and ran speeds via ethernet (on pc and both consoles).  I've set the bandwith in Netduma done all the normal 'optimize settings'.  Turned off deep packet processing, ip6v.  I've tried turbo, super turbo.  I've set congestion controls (when super wasn't on). I'm at a loss.  I've purchased 3 separate modems.  The latest modem is the TPLINK TC7620.  No matter what I do I can't get this to work.  Please let me know what information I can provide.  I want to use this router but my frustration has grown tremendously.

Any ideas?

Bufferbloat only happens around the point of saturation and at 70% anti-flood it does not saturate so I wouldn't fret over trying to get A+.

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Enable turbo mode
  • Enable super turbo mode
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC
