Share excess..yes or no

Hi since I updated my Netduma I have atomically done things that I thought would help me, like putting my PS4 in the Hyper zone and giving my PS4 the most internet on download and upload (and yes I know in games like CoD the upload is what counts) but then I saw the "share excess" button so I tried it. First thought was that whatever internet I wasn't using would be shared...simple right. But no my PS4 using maybe a 10th of my connection but with the share excess off all my other devices had serious internet issue. It was as if they got less than a percent of juice. So my question is did I have something set wrong and if not can I get a more detailed idea on what the "share excess" really means in the Netduma.

'Share Excess' allows all devices to share the bandwidth that is not in use.

I'm aware on what it does, my question is what is happening when it is not selected. Because I have plenty of bandwidth to play CoD and have leftover but all my devices struggle when its not on.

When it is unselected the amount that is assigned to the different devices is what they will ONLY get so if it is 0% in the prioritization flower they're not gonna get any of your Internet.

That is why the developers usually always say to leave it selected because it is on very rare occasions that you would unselect it.

When it's not selected, it doesn't share the excess. Your devices will only use what is allocated to them and nothing more, the rest is wasted.
