Black ops 3 a bad game

Don't get me wrong I do find bo3 to be fun but it certainly seems to be a very bad game avd they didn't put much thought into Whst they were doing.

Take head shots for example say your gun does 30 base damage that's 4 shots to kill = 120 damage but with a 1.1x headshot multiplier that takes 30 damage to 33 so 3x33= 99 damage so you still need 4 shots to kill and that's true for lots of the guns, the rapid fire attachment adds 6% to most of the guns making it almost useless , the silencer reduces range on them by 90%but the long barrel adds nowhere near that making lots of attachments nothing but cosmetics, there are some exceptions like high caliber on shieva but mostly they are useless so everyone runs the same QuickDraw and grip. It seems they didn't do some simple maths and just made up numbers.

Also the specialists and score streaks should be class selectable so you can run different set up in each class.

Each COD game is different.  They each have their pros and cons.  I will admit that some games had more cons than pros, which is subjective for each player.  I personally like BO3.  I try to find the strengths of each game and use them to my advantage.

Way too many accidental headshots due to flinch and high calibur, ridiculously high aim assist and poorly implemented against a cluster of enemies, nearly impenetrable cover gives headglitchers even higher advantage, poor/inconsistent hit detection compared to CoD:Ghosts, unorganic map flow with too many convenient covers around every corner and midpoint. Features like kill counter on the gun doesn't show clearly and no way to inspect it in game like CS:GO, custom paintjobs become very pixelated on some guns like the Kuda. BO3 is mostly polished at its core but a little too ambitious and thus not fully thought out with some of the extra features that are still not in the game or not working as intended.

Despite all this I'm still enjoying the game and it has a high fun factor for me.

I don't know how anyone can consider this offering a "bad game".  The game is fun, entertaining and seems to have captured "enough" of the stuff loved to appeal to a wide audience.  The sales numbers were very good and the in game purchases from DLC and "Black Market" items will most likely be through the roof.

From a project standpoint, the game is a screaming success.  If you want to look up a bad game, Google Duke Nukem Forever and do a side by side.  LOL

Treyarch built the game.  Unless they were consulted specifically concerning the use of dedicated servers, and were provided same for in lab testing and refinement, I have a REALLY HARD TIME following a trail of breadcrumbs that essentially equals this:

"I Play it"+"I Don't Win every encounter"+"I'm going to blame [LAG] because it's the most likely culprit" = bad game

Is there room for refinement and further polishing?  Absolutely.

Do I enjoy every single instant of my time playing the game?  Not even close.

If you aren't enjoying yourself in this title, I have a couple of questions for you.

1) Why keep playing it?

2) Why aren't you actively campaigning against it on the Activision, Treyarch and CoD forums?

I guess I don't understand what the goal is for this site when they are a third party producer of an add on accessory?

why the switch from Xbox to PS4 then?

Lots of reasons, so here's a list.

  1. Beta (curiosity).  It played like shit for a few days on the XB1, but made advancements.  The way it ended, for me, left me wanting to try the PS4 variant after everyone and their uncle was talking about "how much better it was on PS4".
  2. Enjoyed the Game.  When it was playing well on XB1, I enjoyed playing it.  If the PS4 gave me "that" feeling more often, it would have been worth double the investment of a new console.
  3. Testing.  I had to test them both anyways as new features roll out, so really my "work here" helped justify it when it got to decision time.
  4. DLC.  If I like the game, I always buy it to support the Development team.  I owned copies of BO2 for both platforms, and had all the DLC on both platforms.  I work in software and know how hard these folks have to work for "small changes" so my spending another few dollars a month in support is like keeping that Karma Bank balanced.
  5. Fuzzy Clam is a bully and wanted to party up. :D

Doesn't change the fact that the game is a solid, marketable success.

Also doesn't change the fact that NO ONE associated with this forum can do a damn thing about the "problems with the game".

A thread here isn't going to start a ripple that is going to wash the number crunchers and decision makers at Activision/Treyarch into the Abyss.  It would be great if we, or anyone, could be that catalyst.

A groundswell doesn't happen when you have people actively working on 1,000 separate points, it happens when those people come together and have a unified voice.

So if the goal isn't "I want to make sure I am not the only one" then the voices should be joining a chorus.

  • As an Example of a community changing the game:  CoDStats has single-handedly changed multiple tracking and "success" metrics for competitive CoD.  Things like a slaying percentage and time in hill came about because a group of smart, well-intentioned people were passionate about something that the developers were forced to listen to.

CoD is a business, and as successful a one as they have in software right now.  Guaranteed sales year after year after year.

You don't change a successful business model that is making hundreds of millions of dollars, year after year, because of a few tiny voices spread out over "all of the internet".

So we should stop trying to find a way to game better? Because it won't cause a ripple to Treyactivision? I guess we just suck and blame lag. Thanks happy gaming!

Typical.

Let's try this:

Queue the YT voice:  "Hey guys, I'm super excited to be able to tell you that I got Treyarch's own development team to look at your thread here and offer some advice".

Now show me ONE THREAD with any usable replication steps to investigate, verify and test against.

Show me one thread with a Deviation of Mean over a high enough sample population timeline, with documented gaming inputs (your settings, your ping, your home location, the specific box number you were playing on, etc) AND an example of what the expected outcome should be WHEN those conditions you, yourself are using, are applied so they can recreate it.

"when I play BO3 TDM on Kansas' dedicated server, I'm always a second behind".

Not only are you lacking any ability for someone to replicate "your findings" - such that they are, you haven't even given them an expected outcome.

So the result, assuming you actually were to get the ear of someone WHO could make a change, is all they are going to here, is

Hmm where to start other than video I had put up? You are simply well not simply stating we need proof. Go through the threads, Mr Cod god and see that I am not the only one with this issue, hell if you go back maybe a month you can see when I post my settings that work, which no longer work for me! And this is in no way a slam on this router! I believe in that same post you said you give props to anyone who is on xbox as you couldn't deal or ps34 played so much better, Ill have to get the post so I don't misquote you. We aren't here to piss you off but you seem intent on slamming people who are just trying to find a solution to there problems. Is The almighty Trey whatever going to change something because we are on this forum trying to find an answer, hell thats what I thought this forum was for to help each other out buuut from your post we are supposed to just sit here and enjoy the fact that we know people who don't lag. I guess since it works for you in its current state of whatever your settings are we are just moaning or bitching. Well your a moderator bump all the people who can't get help for there lag off the forum, or maybe try and help someone out! Which is what I thought this forum was for. besides this whole post is just someone asking if the game is good or bad. That would be an opinion to go with what people do or do not like. If you don't want to hear that opinon then why open the post in the first place!

BO3 is better than AW, but it's still a Treyarch CoD which means it gives the illusion of skill vs. requiring real skill, IMHO.

The main reason there are high K/Ds in BO3 is because of head glitching. Plain and simple.

All you have to do is juke back and forth behind a chest-high box and kill people with impunity. The irony is the head glitch is just a simple camera / player model (rig) adjustment that could be done in five minutes if they cared to fix it. However, even that wouldn't drastically change CoD since CoD is meant to be an easy pick-up-and-play, instant gratification game to get players addicted for the level grind and the next installment.

All of the above wouldn't be so bad, but the connection issues many of us are still facing even after buying a Netduma is completely out of our control which takes real skill out of the game by definition. I'm not slamming those of you who are good players. I'm slamming Activision for not trying to provide the best online gaming experience a.k.a. FAIR online gaming experience they can given the money and resources they have. Instead, we're stuck on an engine from 1999, and server hardware from almost a decade ago (most likely).

I want to like CoD. I've been with the franchise since it started. But it has just gotten worse and worse as far as "fair" connections go... Even playing across great distances vs. a LAN.

litterally the first line of my post i said its a fun game

but just being fun dont make it a good game cause they clearly messed up with certain things like the headshots, if they was done on purpose so that those with good aim didnt get any advantage over the noobs with bad aim then fair enough but if that is the case why add a multiplyer at all? and then why go and add in an attachment that gives a far higher headshot multiplyer

secretface, stop attacking people dude, absolutely no reason for you to be an asshole to JD,you seem to have issues with me,JD and I don't know who else. You are starting to sound like a whiny little bitch.Every post is about how no one understands what your going thru and how the router doesn't help with your lag. Then people offer advice and you talk shit to them,no wonder people are less than enthused about helping you out,This isn't the COD forums nor will it be run like that.If you got such a bitch about the game you should be on treyarch's forum expressing your discontent with the game. This site or the people on it didn't make BO3,they make a third part router to help minimize lag and get hosts closer to your home, along with congestion control.

Every post is the same you bitching about lagging and being behind everyone else,it happens it's a on line first person shooter game and your connecting to people all over the country, with different connections and set ups.But you also your sure to include in your posts about how people should help you.JD and the rest of us have gone above and beyond to try and help anyone and everyone that is having issues with the duma. But your issues aren't a result of the duma,it does everything it says it does, your issues are somewhere else.If your getting low pings and hosts close to home exactly what are your duma related issues ?

You just seem to be angry and frustrated with the game, maybe you should find a new hobby as to me I haven't seen you having any problems that the rest of us haven't had or are currently having.

I think you got the duma and thought it would turn you into a beast player and that's just not the case.If your an average player and you get the duma, your still gonna be an average player but you'll get hosts closer to home with lower pings and the ability to use congestion control to eliminate local network congestion. And I know the duma does all that, again so what is the issue your having with the duma not working properly ?

Again I never said the router dosen't help or do what its supposed to be, JD came at me oh well. I also never said I was a cod god or do I ever expect to be. If I'm an average player that's overstating. I am not angry just trying to find a better way. But if your gonna try and slam me then Im not gonna sit here and take it sorry. There are many on here who try to help others which is what I thought this forum was for. But name calling is what it seems to be about anymore. Or in the case of this post someone just posted their opinion, everyone has one buddy. Doesn't make them right or wrong!

Honestly after reading through this topic I don't see secretface attack anyone.  It seems that maybe you guys have a history with him and are a little defensive because of that, but I don't think he or really anyone in this thread has done anything wrong.  Sorry to step in but I just thought that maybe a little perspective from someone with no prior biases would be helpful.

Well calling him Mr COD god IMO would be taking a shot at JD.And saying he doesn't try and help people again IMO is taking another shot at him.JD has always tried to help anyone out that he can along with the rest of us.When people say that it gets on my nerves as it's not an accurate statement.

But it's over and done we've all said our peace and we've moved on.
