Bo3 no matter what I do

Recommended Posts

The R1 has everything you need to make BO3 a solid/fun experience in the 1.03.5m firmware.

The Netduma is a tool to use to get the lobbies that will play well for you, and you can camp the servers that best suit your needs. It isn't a set it and forget it type of thing.

Yep.  That about covers the high level talking points.

SSD might be a waste of your dollars because the PS4 much like the XB1 use SATA2 onboard, so you won't get maximum speeds.

What I did was buy an SSHD, it's a hybrid drive, much cheaper, noticeably faster than stock internal HDD.

Played on XB1 this evening just for smiles & cries and....

I did OK, but I should have streamed (recorded) the match because low and behold, a person with a 200ms+ ping had a 40-7 score at the end of KC.

This person did not camp. In fact, he was warping around the screen thanks to his jittery connection.

I know Ian has dedicated his life to this, and I am in no way trying to disrespect him, nor run this topic into the ground, but the evidence is right in front of us. People with "bad"... Whatever you wish to define that as... Pings and connections do better in CoD than in other games. I don't want to be a jerk and proclaim "fact", but like I said, there is indisputable evidence CoD netcode works "backwards" compared to most other games' netcodes.

One other interesting thing about this particular session was it was the same people (myself included) who played through two matches, but in the first one, everybody had green bars. There was one person with a yellow connection, but it kept fluctuating during the match. The second match... With the same people... Almost everybody was yellow and even some red bars. I don't think everyone's families all of a sudden decided to stream movies, download porn, or whatever ALL AT THE SAME TIME (during the second match) for this to occur, but crazier things have happened, I suppose? The point is why was everybody green through out the first match and it played close to feeling like a LAN, then during the second almost everybody... except me, ironically... Connections just took a major dump and it was like playing on a foreign host across the ocean in other games?

@FQs19 what do you mean about DSL reports? What do we have to do etc?

if you do a speedtest on that site, it will give you ratings for Bufferbloat and Quality.

You need to adjust your CC sliders down to get an A+ for Bufferbloat.

My paid for speeds are 180 down and 12 up. I have my CC sliders at 80% down and 85% up to get an A+ on both

Bufferbloat and Quality.

If your Quality is not an A+, you will have to use Pingplotter to see where the jitter is coming from then have your ISP investigate further.

Even if you get an A for one or both, that's not good enough.

You will only see a difference if both Bufferbloat and Quality are an A+.

If you are still having issues with being 'behind' in the game, then move your geo-filter so you connect to games that are double what your

average ping is.

i.e. my average ping per the diagnostic on the Netduma is 14ms.

So I moved my geo halfway across the USA to get into games with a 30ms ping.

You will still get the occasional bad game but that's life.

For the most part you will have a fighting chance.

I'm winning 95% of all FFA matches including Core and Hardcore modes.

I tried this tonight, worked ok, left my home location on my HOME, reduced the "Filter by Distance" slider to the minimum "68.97 Miles" and put my "Ping Assist" to 10ms, I think I can go lower, but I got into games and they had good connections. If you can find games raise your ping 5ms and wait a few mins, for some reason when you change any settings in the Geo Filter it takes a min or two for them to take effect.
