  1. How about give us an option to where we can change the username Login instead of using "admin" Like to whatever we want the username to be, that would be a nice option. 😃
  2. After working with DumaOS on the R1 for a little bit, I've noticed that I have to reboot my router everyday in order to get the various modules to run. At some-point during the day they will not load anymore and the only thing I can do is to reboot the router. The Modules that don't load are: Device Manager - Full page QOS - Anti-bufferbloat loads but nothing else loads Geo-filter - Map loads but the devices don't. Network Monitor - Nothing loads System Information - Everything Loads Network Settings - Wan loads but nothing else. I don't know if someone else posted this. Thanks
  3. So far it's been clear that Blacks Ops 4 Dedicated Servers and the R1 with DumaOS simply don't work well together. I live in western pa and by far my best experience playing BO4 has been when I am on P2P. Sadly for me, this will be year 2 of this as WW2 played the EXACT SAME WAY. I really appreciate what the team at NetDuma has done. Without my R1 I probably would have quit COD. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't tell others what I have experienced. When I Geo Filter to my area I end up getting a P2P game after a few minutes and the countless lobby is not joinable messages. When I finally get into a game it's a decent connection, low lag and I can at least end the game with a 1.5/2 KD. THEN I get put on a Dedicated Server in Chicago or Ny/NJ. Anyone that has played COD and you don't live near NY/NJ you know the connection completely sucks. While on Dedicated Server the duma ping looks great (I've ranged from 16ms to 30 ms the past few days) but the connection actually is HORRIBLE. Hit Marker after hit marker, can't finish a kill and everyone else is looking like TheMarkofJ. If it was only BO4 playing this way I would just say so but this was the same behavior last year. My advice to anyone not living near a dedicated server.....as soon as you see a dedicated server, back out the lobby and only play P2P. This seems to be the only way to enjoy Black Ops 4 with the R1.
  4. Hi, so I just got my netduma, (mainly for cod iw and its insane packet loss / spikes) I went through the setup and all, and looked online to understand the misc settings. (I have a router by the way, and i plugged an ethernet cord in from that to the netduma) I have 100 down, 10 up, w/ Rogers Cable in Ontario, Canada. I've linked screenshots of my misc settings here: http://imgur.com/a/9EplW I then went to host filtering, did 30 ping and about 1500km, and found a match. It was amazing, now packet loss symbol at all. (The only device connected to my internet at the time was my computer and iphone, both of which werent being used, and i also had the device prioritization on 80 for my ps4) I played about 5-6 games with no lag, and the very rare lag spike. Throughout the day i tried several other settings to try and fine tune the settings as best as possible, but now im constantly getting the packet loss symbol in game and im skipping a little less than i used to without the net duma. I did a factory reset and used the original settings i used before, but same thing. The thing is, im using the original main router for everyones wifi in my house, instead of the net dumas wifi. So i assume that would mean the network speeds are being shared over these two routers, (they arent bridged, i tried to bridge earlier and nothing worked, so i had to factory reset my main router) and i may be getting slower speeds on the duma, and it cant use the congestion control properly because the bandwidths too high? Is the solution to simply connect all devices and see what the game is like afterwards? I figured i would post this here incasethere could be other problems. Thanks! (cc was capped at 70 for the successful tests, reactive)
  5. Hey there, I recently upgraded my R1 from the original firmware to DumaOS, and simply connecting my ethernet cable to port 2 on the R1 let me connect to the original R1 interface. The update went smoothly and I logged into the DumaOS page using the default username/password combination, updated the max bandwidths in the QoS section, then went to replace my existing router with the R1. I still have internet access while connected directly to the R1, but I can no longer access the router page at 192.168.88.1.Running and ipconfig /all shows the default gateway to be 192.168.0.1, the gateway of my modem, rather than 192.168.88.1. I've checked that I'm connected to the R1 rather than my modem/router, and even tested on my phone. All devices show a gateway of .0.1 instead of .88.1. I'm assuming this is the cause of the inaccessibility, but I'm not sure what would cause this. I've tried factory resetting the router as well, but the default gateway stayed at .0.1. I have attached a picture of the ipconfig readout below. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
  6. hi guys Got my new XR500 yesterday and love the product! My question is on the bufferbloat side especially on the upload side. i have done multiple tests on DSL Reports (uk) i can control my download buffer but my uplaod buffer is really bad my idle is 12ms to 15ms download i can get 15-20ms and upload is 20-140ms ive tried the sliders at every possible percentage but i i can not control my bufferbloat on the upload. i tried pingplotter and nothing is wrong with my network. i have the R1 and i can control everything. idle is the same download is 12-15 and upload is 12-15 aswell? i have tried the "always on" and turned it off but nothing is working? can you assist me in this matter? kind regards john
  7. Hello, for past 2 days, I am having trouble accessing my R1 browser interface. My desktop is connected via Ethernet cable and has internet access. I can browse internet, play online games etc. but cannot access the R1 interface. However, I can access the R1 interface from my MacBook pro which is connected via WiFi. I looked into the forum for help and tried to 'Reboot', 'Factory Reset' the router but it don't seem to help. Please check the screenshot below for the error I get on browser.

    DumaOS for the R1

Does somebody have any official info about the release of the DumaOS on the R1 with anti-jitter/spike ?
  9. So, I'm in the market for a new router for multiple reasons. My current setup is with our verizon fios gigabit ethernet. My brother and myself both have ps4 and XB1 and to a much lesser extent, occasionally we'll dabble in some pc gaming. The biggest issue seems to be that when he's playing a fighting game on ps4, or I'm playing a title on XB1, any and all wifi connections (particularly from my father's cell) or the addition of any streaming (youtube, twitch, netflix) just destroys the gaming experience on either console, causing extreme frustration. Aside from that, certain times of the day, the connection can be extremely volatile for no apparent reason, and it's not always the hours you'd expect, leading us to look around to see if someone's using wifi or streaming services, finding nothing, and sometimes scratching our heads. I've read up on NetDuma and I'm confident buying the R1 would help immensely. In fact, I had all but made up my mind right before reading about the deal between Netgear and Netduma to bring the DumaOS to the XR500. I've done a little research, but I've had a hard time finding information differentiating the two hardware wise. If anyone could point me to a comparison website or give me information about the differences or potential advantages of one over the other, it would GREATLY be appreciated. Personal anecdotes and opinions as to which is better suited for my needs would be appreciated. We both use ethernet cables to directly connect from the router we have now to our consoles. As I stated, I'm mainly a console gamer, and spend most of my hours playing NHL 18, or various other sports titles, with some shooters (pubG on xb1, battlefield, cod, battlefront) mixed in on occasion. My brother is more of a ps4 fighting game fan, playing Dragonball FighterZ most recently, as well as Marvel, Street Fighter, and Injustice/Mortal Kombat religiously. So, anyone with an informed opinion, please weigh in and tell me why one would be a better choice than the other. At first glance, I feel like since they will have the same OS in April, the newer router with the newer hardware seemingly has an advantage, but, that's just a guess really, I haven't seen much about the specifications, nor do I know what measurable metrics would be most important for two console gamers looking to prioritize gaming traffic. Any help for a clueless gamer would go a long way since it's not often I have this kind of money to spend on my gaming hobby, and to make the incorrect choice would be a real bummer. It doesn't seem to be good business necessarily for NetDuma to state outright that Netgear's router is flat out better (despite the price difference), but the added cost makes me think that it may in fact be so, if not the age of the R1. Still, that's just an assumption based on those two factors, without proof, so any real tangible information or anecdotal experiences that someone could share would help. Thanks in advance!

  12. Hi all. Initially I was pissed as there was no info on the UK release of the Nighthawk and it was US release only (for the moment) and with Netduma being a UK software company I was frustrated. This was due partly to april being a 17 month period since Netduma posted a tweet of the DumaOS also personally I am losing my eyesight and have been forced to take early retirement and voluntary redundancy so my frustration came out yesterday. Netduma are a fantastic company and I have huge respect for them and also the moderators on here and everyone in the forum who helps each other. So let's all stop whining about having to wait til April 17th/18th for the DumaOS........at the end of the day you are getting a completely new OS and not an update of the current firmware FOR FREE!!!!!!!!! So let's all stop whining, have a group hug and look forward to DumaOS as it will be amazing!!!!!!!!! B.D
  13. Hi Are there still issue's using PPPOE ? Last time i used the Duma as the main router connected to the modem, it cut my speeds in half. I want to change my set up to Modem > Duma > Nighthawk. But I had speed drop issues last time i tried this.
  14. I want to thank Netduma team and specially Fayser for 1 on 1 support. I received my replacement router today which was very fast 1 service and it's working just the way it says. I am now getting 166/10 off my 150/10 virgin media broadband package. Thank you again.
  15. Hi Fraser, I am available Tuesday (14th/nov) after 4 pm, or Wednesday (15th/nov) all day. Thank you.
  16. I received my Netduma R1 router today and tried to set up exactly the way the manual guide says. But as I hook up the router with my Super Hub 2 and put it on Modem mode, the Download and Upload speed almost went to non-existence. I tried to dig in through all the forum thread about similar problems and none of them seem to be helpful at all. I tried the Optimal Setting Guide http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000023979-optimal-settings-guide , checked the firmware which is up-to-date (i.e. 1.03.6h), tried to reset all devices, called in the Virgin Media Broadband Support Team and confirmed there is no issue on the ISP side. Therefore, could anyone please help me with this issue? Below is the before and after Internet speed. Thank you in advance.
  17. Adam Qureshi, Operations Manager at Netduma, Ltd. suggested via email for me to create this post. Right out of the box, the router seems to work fine except does not receive a WAN IP. ISP confirmed that they do not see the device on their network. Upgrading router to version 1.03.6i did not resolve the issue. Cloning the MAC address of my PC did not resolve the issue. Adding "BT" login information did not resolve the issue. Manually specifying a WAN IP does not work (enabling Static IP and clicking Apply disables Static IP) Everything that does not require a WAN IP seems to work as designed (Wifi, DHCP, login info, port forwarding setup, etc.). As of right now, I believe my only option is to return this device as I have owned it less than a week. Please let me know what other options I have. Thank you in advance.
  18. So I have the R1 connected to an Arris SB8200 cable modem. I have been having issues with T3 and T4 timeouts causing the modem to reboot. I thought this was an issue with Comcast. But it appears to be the same problem I had before with the SB6183 and its Energy Efficient Ethernet. Any heavy internet usage like downloading or streaming causes T3 and T4 timeouts leading to the modem rebooting. Does anyone using the SB8200 have similar issues???
  19. Below you will find two different videos of me playing BO3 FFA. The videos were recorded 1 day apart from each other using the same equipment. You'll see in one that I win easily. The other, you'll see me get destroyed by a shitty connection/server. Though in this case I believe the server was fine and my internet connection was flaking. No one in the lobby had a poor connection according to the in-game latency bars. Everyone showed as a 4 bar. But there was one person who was skipping all over the place. This is what I struggle with on a daily basis. This can happen even between matches. First match, I win. Second match I get destroyed. I can run Ping Plotter all day long and not see anything that would indicate this poor of a connection. In the videos you will clearly see that the in-game Ping meter is showing exactly what I'm feeling and seeing. Which is why I believe the in-game ping meter and always have. Now that meter may add the processing time into its calculations but it's still accurate and directly corresponds to what I'm seeing and feeling. Rant over... Enjoy your day peeps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ghq-T9PF5Bc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlhqDs-Mt60

    Neighbours Accessing My R1???

Hey all, hoping someone can shed some light here. Every so often I log into my Netduma and in my device manager there are a bunch of unknown devices connected to my router. I block and delete these devices from the list each time but I would like to know how the heck they're connecting in the first place? A few minutes ago I just had to block and delete over a dozen random devices and I have no clue who they even belong to. My R1 is password protected. The serial number on the device is the password. I don't even talk to my neighbours or anyone in my neighbourhood for that matter so its perplexing to me that there would be so many random devices hooked up to it. Hope someone will have some answers, Thanks. Vile
  21. Haven't posted a video in a while... here's some recent gameplay of me using the FFAR in BO3 on PS4Pro. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j5JPVanQew
  22. R1 debug version 1.03.6h running on rb-951g-2hnd Hi all Im based in Australia and having some serious issues with my R1 i am a new user and just received the router over a week ago. I did have it all working and although it wasn't perfect i had all my devices connected to the internet via the R1, i was planning on making a post to try and achieve optimum settings but have run into such a dilemma that i can no longer use the R1 I have been trying multiple settings since last night and the R1 says it's connected to the internet (i'm writing this post) But when it comes to my xbox one, or any other device connecting its just a no go, last night the xbox was saying it was connected but i couldn't load any games or see who was online ect. (it basically said the same 7 friends were online all night and one of my friends signed out 1 minute ago which never changed) tried turning console off and disabling geo filter then turning console back on and it doesn't change anything. I have noticed that going into misc settings gives me the contact forum error and cloud setting constantly loading. Tried restarting the console as well but no luck. Also just got home to realise other devices such as my partners iphone says it cannot connect to internet. Also if i check both the xbox an PS services through the netduma it times out. I had it working before but for the life of me i can't figure this out. Please note that for some reason when i try and post FaST with an "@" it protects my email address? so i have just used a normal "a" to try make it less confusing. ISP: Belong uses Telstras Network i was using 20/2 in my Bandwidth setting but after seeing this (https://www.belong.com.au/internet-speed) page on my ISP website i have changed it to 20/.850 (is that right?) My setup is as follows: ISP (Belong) FaST 5355 Router (in DMZ mode with my R1 WAN IP) Connected to the Netduma R1 via a LAN ethernet port (am i supposed to be using the red WAN ethernet port?) Xbox One hardwired to R1 All other devices including laptop used to configure router connected via wifi (R1) Netduma R1 Interface settings: Preemptive Down Cap 100% Up Cap 100% Share Excess I had my xbox in hyper traffic but have removed it in hopes it would fix something and it didn't Host Filtering (enabled box) for my Xbox is unchecked When i go into device manager it gives me the blue box stating: We have detected you are connected to another router (as opposed to a modem). In most cases the Netduma R1 circumvents this, however, if a game detects closed NAT you may need to enable modem mode or DMZ. Click here for more information. I managed to DMZ the FaST 5355 using my R1 WAN IP which gave me an open NAT earlier on Have even tried using the factory settings on the R1 but no luck At this point the only device that's actually connected to the internet via the R1 is my laptop but even then it doesn't seem fully connected ie. I am able to surf te forums here and make posts ect but certain things will not load online, like When i go into settings/misc on the R1 interface i get the error (Please post issue on forum) which leads me to believe it not actually properly connected as i read in another thread the only thing that will cause that is not internet. When i try to check the status of the Playstation Network or the Xbox network they both timeout. Here's a few speedtest.net results (all tests were performed through the R1): All above tests were performed on the Melbourne Telstra server opposed to the Perth server (where i am actually located) as Belong advised me that there servers is the Melbourne one and that i will not get accurate results testing against the Perth Server. Heres a few http://speedtest.telstra.com tests: (Decided to just do 3 Perth server tests and 3 Melbourne tests to make sure the Belong was actually correct) Perth Testra Server: EDIT: NOTE ALL TESTS WERE DONE OVER WIFI! Also did a couple tests on the google speed test? It just came up first when i searched speed test in google and when i clicked more info it sent me here: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/6283840?p=speedtest&visit_id=1-636257608205208802-2928815349&rd=1 11.3 Mbps download 0.86 Mbps upload Latency: 80 ms Server: Sydney Your Internet speed is typical Your Internet connection should be able to handle streaming an HD video. I did factory reset the router but have changed to default password back to the password it was before i had the problems and still nothing will connect to the wifi so it's not that i have the wrong wifi pass. It seems to just sit on obtaining IP address on my Android Samsung s5 and then gives up. PLEASE SOMEONE HALP!
