    Fifa19

answer found in this post by Netduma Jack
  2. since the new firmware , i cannot delete an Offline unwanted device from device manager ? I sold this router to a friend but manage it remotely for him..... the device will not delete ? it says its Online ....?
  3. Would be nice to have a few more "types" available from the drop-down menu in Device Manager\Device Settings\Device Type.... (+ CCTV , i missed that one. I know "Camera" is there, but just to differentiate perhaps...?) (& maybe just Streaming Device instead of Media Player, or both...?)
  4. hi yes correct. in the log it said Internet Disconnected, then it reconnects about 3 mins later (only when Hybrid VPN is enabled) i will enable t again and see if i can capture what the log says at the time
  5. hi Fraser, no, only when the vpn (IPVanish) is enabled and active. only 2 devices were listed in VPN. internet just drops for no obvious reason other than VPN running. Router runs okay (no drops) when its disabled...? cheers
  6. [UPDATE] Can 100% confirm when Hybrid VPN is enabled, router loses internet after a day and thereafter several times daily. Therefore.. its now a pretty useless function, so it's been disabled until Devs sort it out .... (in this case, the router doesn't crash or anything as severe as the OP, in this case, the internet just appears as disconnected in the log and after 5 mins , reconnects. Happy New year
  7. still losing internet a few times a day ? going to try without VPN enabled to see if router runs stable before reverting to previous firmware. Merry Christmas to all....
  8. so this is a microsoft issue and nothing to do with the router ? odd PS4 owners on here reporting same thing...? whats your source ? thanks
  9. can confirm same issue with the xr500 i sold my mate. router lost internet connection twice today and reconnected itself 5 mins after wards... ? (on latest firmware - VPN was enabled) once this am around 10:40 and this evening at 7:16 oddly there log is empty immediately before the failure , i can only see the log details after it reconnected itself ?
  10. wifi password shown in plain view ?? (not very secure that , is it ?) ie. Wifi / Guest wifi Password : (mask/unmask) Feature ? Can Devs please implement this into the next issue of firmware - the plain text view of the wifi passwords needs to be "masked" so that they do not immediately appear on the System Information screen and Wifi Setup screen ? i dont think i need to explain why..... thanks
  11. cheers not sure what that big spike was because it happened just over 1 minute after switching Qos to always on... didnt happen exactly at the same time.

cool! post back if it worked or not. cheers

    Hybrid VPN speeds

Try UDP instead of TCP, improved speeds for me....

    XR500 for PS4

try giving it a static ip address in reservation table, reboot both and retest. also , if you have a spare switch lying around, put it in between the router and your ps4, retest. if you had it added into Geo Filter, remove it and re-add it. (consoles tend to cause a few problems with this router, especially when it comes to "Energy-saving Mode | Instant-On Mode's" being used on them) try options above, might work for you.... Using a switch between XR500 and my Xbox One X , cured this problem for me when i owned this router.
  15. why not use EA game servers for the test...? given that this was the initial purpose of buying this router... to eliminate lag spikes especially when on gaming servers ...? here is the pingplotter graph for twitter.com (tested while streaming 2 x 4K Youtube videos) one big spike AFTER it was set to always on...? but after that it certainly does look a little more stable. can u explain a bit more in detail why i shouldn't be testing EA's game servers so i can get my head around it,.... thanks
  16. slightly off topic but since the update on the Xr500.... i ran a ping plotter test on my mates Pc to test the Xr500 on 3 x Fifa (EA) servers and noticed that regardless of what qos settings were used, i got the same spikes on all 3 graphs ... ? Almost as if qos was doing nothing ....? Tested with xbox one and ps4 being given traffic priority and tried all 3 qos settings on, off and when high priority traffic detected. and 70 / 70 EA servers tested; easo.ea.com , utas.fut.ea.com and utas.s2.fut.ea.com. Streamed 4k and downloaded a huge torrent while testing. I watched the graph for an hour and graph showed absolutely no difference with any qos settings used ? (same 7/8 spikes throughout the hour) very strange....? maybe i did something wrong while testing.....
  17. 100% working and can confirm what Netduma Jack said above. My mate who owns my old Xr500 said this is working perfectly for him. 5 bars connection when playing fifa now . Proves he getting connected to low ping players ....

  19. I too noticed this issue when setting up my mates XR500.... workaround for now, hold down CTRL key and at same time move your mouse scroll wheel towards you. or just goto your browser settings and change view to 80%
  20. Netgear should put that on the side of the box.... [Exclusive New Feature!] Additional Equipment needed for consoles to work properly : Separate Switch

    App?

even something simple that could show users the "auto ping info" on a phone/ipad when playing games like Fifa , would be really useful. players could then easily decide from viewing the phone app to go ahead and play a game as they can see a "true" ping. Given that EA's in-game latency bar is a load of BS! LOL!!
  22. nobody said they were using a US based VPN...? IPVANISH has servers all over the world. I also use IPVANISH on my pc (as a client program) exact same ping and speeds as if connected to my own ISP....and with fewer hops in most cases I also don't really care if my COD "gaming" data is secure or not.... lol And hey, this thread inst really about promoting other peoples favourite VPN's.... LOL!! the point is, there seems to be a very major difference in speeds when the Router is running the VPN when compared to the Pc running VPN client .... especially on UDP
  23. i checked this on my mates router (i sold him my xr500) and i have remote access to it so i can assist him setting it up, so i checked .... he has all his main household devices (Pc's / laptops/ consoles etc) setup with static ip in LAN settings (reservation table) (its better this way , phones / ipads etc best on DHCP) he has IPvanish setup and connected (currently on UDP connection) His console is added in VPN as a device His LAN IP's didnt change with VPN enabled , that i could see ? I did a speedtest and sure enough on a UDP connection, speed was pathetic 15mb down 8up ? when VPN was switched to TCP, it worked at full speed ? (Seems router doesnt like a UDP connection ??) isnt UPD better for gaming though .....? note: he mentioned to me that when gaming last night of Fifa, it was seriously laggy on TCP on IPVANISH (worse than ever before!) . he will retest it later tonight on UDP to see if it improves any. even though this will reduce his overall download and upload speeds...?
  24. clicking the ? (help) icon next to it suggests between 30 - 50. not much else other than fast search to tick.... thats it...
